Sheila Cameron
At the Nexus of Business, Media, and Fine Art
Sheila Cameron is a seasoned executive and multidisciplinary artist who has spent over 25 years innovating at the intersection of entertainment, technology, government, fine art, and social activism. With a career that spans high-level production for global media giants and boundary-pushing solo art exhibitions, Sheila brings a unique, integrated perspective to every project.
Executive Leadership & Media Production
Sheila’s professional foundation is built on leadership roles at some of the most influential names in media, including HBO, MTV, American Photo Magazine, and LivePlanet (Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s production shingle). As an accomplished film, television, and web producer, she possesses the rare ability to bridge the gap between creative vision and business viability.
She is an expert at overseeing complex projects from concept to completion—managing multi-million dollar budgets, navigating strategic partnerships, and delivering consistent brand messaging across diverse digital and print platforms. Whether she is evaluating scripts or developing integrated marketing strategies for local media, government, or non-profit sectors, Sheila is a "translator" between the often-siloed languages of art, commerce, and technology.
She is currently contracted with YubaNet.com as Chief Sponsorship Strategist / Producer.
Fine Art & Digital Innovation
In the studio, Sheila explores the evolving role of fine art in the age of social media. She gained worldwide attention for the viral FREE KATIE campaign and made headlines by challenging traditional art-world gatekeepers with her online-only solo show and auction, “Jerry Saltz Personally Invited Me to Hell and I’m Going.”
A Juried ArtSlant Showcase winner and "Best in Show" recipient for the War on Women Art Show, her work is held in private collections globally. She continues to explore the "digital-first" art experience, often selling works in progress to collectors via Instagram and Facebook, effectively breaking down the barriers between the artist’s process and the final acquisition.
Advocacy & Community Impact
Her work as an organizer for The Women’s March Sacramento and her leadership within Indivisible Women Nevada County demonstrate her commitment to using strategic communication as a tool for rural community empowerment and economic development. She currently serves on the board of The Nevada City Chamber of Commerce.
Education & Professional Affiliations
Sheila holds a BA in Fine Art and Writing from Loyola University in Maryland. She is a founding member of the DANK experimental art collective and continues to produce work and consult from her home studio in Nevada City, California.
"I thrive in the nexus of digital media, politics, fine art, and entertainment. Often these worlds operate with different cultural norms and business models; I enjoy the challenge of tightening the message and mission of big, complicated projects to ensure they resonate across every channel."
